Privacy

Iris Client runs on your machine. It has no accounts of its own, no analytics, and no server collecting anything about you.

What is stored, and where

Everything the launcher remembers stays on your computer:

• Settings - memory allocation, chosen version, theme, HUD layout.
• Accounts - the display name, UUID and session token of accounts you add. Stored in %APPDATA%\Iris Client\iris-config.json with owner-only file permissions.
• Game files - Minecraft, mods and assets, in your usual .minecraft folder.

Your Microsoft password

Iris Client never sees it. Sign-in uses Microsoft's device-code flow: the launcher shows a short code, you approve it on Microsoft's own page in your browser, and the launcher receives only the resulting token. There is no embedded login form and nothing to type a password into.

What leaves your machine

Network requests are made only to run the launcher, and only to these places:

• Microsoft and Xbox Live - to sign in, when you choose to.
• Minecraft services - to verify your session and read your profile.
• Mojang - to download game files, libraries and assets.
• Modrinth - only when you search for or install a mod.
• The update server - to ask whether a newer build exists.

None of these requests carry information about you beyond what the service needs to answer. There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, and no crash reporting service.

Discord Rich Presence

Turned off unless you configure it. When enabled, the launcher publishes what you are playing to the Discord app already running on your computer. Each field - the server address, the version, the elapsed time - can be suppressed on its own, and nothing is sent anywhere except to Discord on your own machine.

This website

Static pages only. No cookies are set, no analytics script runs, and no fonts or scripts are loaded from third parties. Your host may keep standard server logs; that is outside this project's control.

Removing your data

Remove an account from the Accounts screen and its token is deleted immediately. Uninstalling the launcher and deleting %APPDATA%\Iris Client removes everything the launcher stored. Your .minecraft folder belongs to Minecraft and is left alone.

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
