Terms of use
Last updated 12 August 2026
By downloading or using Iris Client you accept these terms. They are short on purpose.
What Iris Client is
A launcher and an in-game overlay for Minecraft: Java Edition. It is not the game, it does not include the game, and it does not grant a licence to the game.
You need to own Minecraft
A valid Minecraft: Java Edition licence on your Microsoft account is required. Iris Client will not help you play without one, and no part of it is designed to work around Minecraft's ownership or session checks.
Not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft
Iris Client is an independent project. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB. Your use of Minecraft remains governed by Mojang's own End User Licence Agreement.
Fair play
The in-game component draws information the game already has. It does not alter movement, reach, hit registration or timing, and it sends no packets the vanilla client would not send.
Server rules differ, and it is your responsibility to check the rules of any network you play on. Iris Client is not responsible for action a server takes against your account.
Third-party mods
The mod browser installs software published by other people on Modrinth. Those mods are covered by their own licences and are the responsibility of their authors, not this project.
Cost and licence
Iris Client is provided free of charge for personal use. You may not sell it, or redistribute modified builds under the Iris Client name and branding.
No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the authors are not liable for any damage, data loss, or lost game progress arising from its use.
Changes
These terms may change; the date above changes with them. Continuing to use Iris Client after a change means you accept the revised terms.
